1What you need#
- Device
- An iPhone or an iPad. On the iPad the app uses the full screen, not a phone-sized window.
- iOS version
- iOS 17 or later (iPadOS 17 on the iPad).
- Internet
- Needed for the map, fuel prices and cloud sync. Saving your spot, the timer and your on-device history all work offline.
- An account
- Not required. See "Do I need an account?" below.
There is no Android version yet, and no web version — this site is information about the app, not the app itself.
2Getting the app#
Parking Reminder is distributed through the App Store. There is no other download, and you should not install it from anywhere else — a copy from another source is not one we published.
The App Store handles the install, the updates and, if you subscribe, the billing.
3The first time you open it#
A short setup runs once. Every step can be skipped, and skipping nothing breaks — you can do any of it later in Settings.
- A welcome screen.
- Location permission, so the app can save where you parked.
- A practice save, so you have seen it work before you need it.
- Notification permission, so the timer can warn you.
- Add a vehicle — a name and a body type. Useful later for per-vehicle spending.
- Sign in or create an account. Optional; it only adds cloud sync.
- Choose your language.
- A look at what Premium adds.
The vehicle, account and language steps write real settings rather than demo data, so anything you set up there is already done.
4Why it asks for each permission#
Every permission below is optional. The app degrades rather than refuses: decline one and the feature that needed it stops offering itself, nothing else changes.
- Location
- To record where you parked and to point you back to it. Your position stays on the device unless you sign in for cloud sync, and even then it goes to our own server — see the Privacy Policy.
- Location in the background
- Only if you turn on automatic parking detection or arrival alerts. Without it those two features are simply off.
- Camera and photos
- To take and store a photo of where you parked — which floor, which pillar. Photos are kept on your device and are never uploaded.
- Notifications
- To warn you before your parking time runs out, and to deliver fuel-price alerts if you set any. This is the permission most worth granting: the timer is the reason the app exists.
5Do I need an account?#
No. The app works completely offline with your history stored on the device.
An account adds cloud sync, so your saved spots and history survive a new phone, and it is required for fuel-price alerts, because those are sent from our server rather than scheduled on your phone.
Signing up uses a six-digit code sent to your email — there is no password to invent or forget. You can delete the account, and everything attached to it, from inside the app at any time.
6What is free#
Free, with no account and no subscription:
- Saving your parking spot with a photo, note, floor and tags
- The direction and distance back to your car, and walking directions in one tap
- The Home Screen and Lock Screen widget
- The map, with car parks, EV chargers and fuel stations — including their prices
- Turn-by-turn directions in the app
- Your last 20 parking sessions
Premium adds the parking timer with its live countdown on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, the cheapest fuel or best charger for your car in one tap, your complete history, live car park occupancy, fuel price alerts and 7-day price trends, satellite and 3D maps, automatic parking detection, street-cleaning and permit warnings, spending reports, the morning digest, custom timer sounds, cross-device sync and alternate app icons.
7If something is not working#
- No fuel prices near me
- Live prices exist only where a country publishes an open price feed: Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Italy, Denmark and New South Wales in Australia. Elsewhere you still get the stations, without prices. This is a data availability limit, not a fault.
- Notifications are not arriving
- Check that notifications are allowed for Parking Reminder in the iPhone Settings app, and that a Focus mode is not silencing them. Time-sensitive alerts must also be permitted for the expiry warning to break through.
- Premium is missing after reinstalling
- Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account that bought it.
- The map is empty
- Zoom in. Fetching parking and fuel data over a whole country would be a very large query, so the app waits until the view is small enough to be answerable.
- Anything else
- Email support@devleo.de — see the Support page for what to include.
8Languages#
English, German, Albanian, French, Italian, Spanish and Danish. Not only the interface: notifications, reminders and the monthly spending report arrive in the language you chose.
Change it any time in Settings → Language.
